About me

Why did you decide to join Huawei?
I joined Huawei because its corporate culture is unique. There’s so much energy behind the Chinese and American business cultures, and the merging of the two within one company works well. Huawei has the best of both worlds, and I was drawn to that.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
Not only is Huawei a uniquely diverse place to work in, it is also flexible with its employees. The management listens to employees and their concerns, and they do everything they can to help employees take care of themselves.

About me

What do you like the most about what you do?
I like the balance between technology and business development and the interaction I have with people on both sides. I love being involved in the details of technology development, but I also very much enjoy engaging the customer on Huawei’s technology leadership and developing E2E solutions for our customers.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
Huawei is much more untethered in terms of growth and progress in the industry – it is open to growing wherever the market is growing. As a large company, we have a huge amount of resources that allow us to enter any market. I also like the multi-cultural aspects of the company; I’ve learned a lot about the differences and similarities between Chinese and American societies. Huawei behaves like a startup with the energy to focus on innovation, but with significant financial and engineering resources to get the job done.

What do you like the most about what you do?
I’m able to directly help people every day and communicate face to face with people. I impact every department and every team because my job is Facilities and Safety related. My role doesn’t directly have anything to do with devices, but I get to interact with everyone in the company.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
I like the high quality of professionalism among people throughout the company. I’m able to implement a safety culture within Huawei, which enables employees to do their work to the best of their abilities. I also like the Ping-Pong games that take place after work!

About me

What do you like the most about Huawei?
I was looking for the next growth opportunity when I came to Huawei. I knew the telecommunications industry well, and Huawei’s growth potential was appealing to me. It is a challenging and engaging environment here. I can learn something new every day.

Looking to the future, what are you most excited about Huawei?
Our device business is currently ranked number three in global smartphone manufacturing, and we still have much room to displace the other manufacturers, especially in the United States. We have unlimited potential; our devices business is strong and will become what it’s going to be – the global leader. Huawei will continue to grow and eventually become a consumer brand that everyone will know.

Huawei is a large global company and a place where I can grow and learn and continuously master my skills. Huawei is the best place to work in. Opportunities and encouragement are given to all employees to help them drive personal growth and advance their careers. Everyone is challenged to do their best—and is rewarded for it.

What do you like the most about your work?

Glen Ziegler

Senior Director of Channel Sales

About me

Why did you come to Huawei?
To me, Huawei is a chance to “grab lightning in a bottle” and a chance for everyone working here to explode with success. It is exciting to face what lies ahead. At every trade show we have gone to, people have been excited and energized at the Huawei booth. The enthusiasm everyone is feeling makes Huawei exciting.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
Huawei is like a startup, but it is backed by our vast existing experience. It is the one opportunity in the tech industry where you have the potential for explosive growth – and be a part of this explosive growth of business – and to invent or reinvent your career. And people are usually intrigued by us and what we can offer. Although we are often perceived as primarily in the networking sector, people are finding out that we also offer leading products in other fields, such as servers and storage, enterprise LTE (eLTE) and video conferencing. It’s the technology we have that is making a difference, both with our channel partners and ourselves.

Been at Huawei for more than 5 years

About me

What do you like the most about what you do?
I’m mostly a project manager and engineer at heart, so I like the technical details of the project, and I enjoy learning about the technology and seeing it at work for the customers.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
I like that it’s a small group, so we know everyone. It’s like working for a startup. I like Huawei being the best-in-class in technology and I like that the company invests in R&D. There is vertical growth at Huawei, enabling me to become a leader in the U.S.

Tom Yarbrough

Account Manager

About me

What do you like the most about Huawei?
I like the opportunity, freedom and passion to improve school districts. I have a personal connection to this; I have three children in K-12 grades in Texas. We are in a technology age and technology is moving faster than educational groups can keep up with. I’m excited about being part of getting the Enterprise group started with the education market in the U.S. We have an unlimited amount of technology “toys” to play with that will benefit so many kids.

What do you like the most about what you do?
I love the freedom and ability to do big things at a large company. The technology is phenomenal—there are more than 70,000 R&D folks around the world researching for Huawei. Huawei doesn’t inflate the price of products, so school districts get the opportunity to buy more for less money and spend what they save on other areas that will benefit the kids. That ability has saved one school district that we work with $1.4 million in their technology budget and we got them all the technology that they want and need, which is very exciting!

Huawei is a performance-driven company so the work ethic is very strong. They reward performance and results. When I joined Huawei, I saw an opportunity for growth and an appetite for innovation in technology. And we have seen significant growth and innovation. Our solutions are truly the “leading edge” of technology, with outstanding services supporting them.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
People working at Huawei see it as the global leader in technology, but we also run in a fashion similar to a startup company, in that, we are also here for our customers—all our customers, big or small. Everybody here understands: if our customers are successful, then we will be.

Barbara Carroll

Demand Planning Manager

Plano, TX

Working at Huawei since 2012

About me

What do you like the most about what you do?
I previously worked with my current team before we all came to Huawei. When I knew they all came here, I wanted to get the team back together. It’s exciting to work with the people I know, to be working for a relatively new company in the U.S., and to do the best we can to make the company be as successful as it can be. I also interact with a sales team and am always learning from them about the company, the customers, and themselves. We all share in the excitement when we have a big customer win, and we all appreciate the relationships we have. Working with everyone at Huawei is a great experience.

What do you like the most about Huawei?
In addition to the people at Huawei, I also like our innovation and our drive to meet our customers’ needs. We design and make devices that will fill our customers’ needs. For example, some of our senior customers may need bigger buttons or easy-to-understand instructions, so we have phones that have a simple UI, clear tutorials and bigger buttons. In the end, our technologies work for our customers; making our customers successful is what makes Huawei successful.

Anthony Mitchell

Senior Director of Service of North America, Huawei Device USA

Plano, TX

Working at Huawei since 2008

About me

What do you like the most about your work at Huawei?
I lead the service department , which involves all after-sales service and technical support to end users. It also involves logistics, repairs and returns to end users and carrier customers. I like the team I work with. We share the goal of making a difference for the customers, and it makes us happy to know we help customers with their Huawei experience.

What are you most excited about?
I am excited about building out our E-commerce capabilities. Our E-commerce site itself represents a shift of focus—from a carrier-centric experience to customer experience. It’s the service department’s responsibility to make sure these customers on our e-commerce site have a positive Huawei experience. Ultimately, customers are the decision makers; they drive demand. Creating a positive customer experience along with our great products will create a consumer buzz, which will drive the response from carriers.

CP Grant

About me

What do you like the most about what you do at Huawei?
One of the areas I am very excited to work in is hosting our corporate and industry events. We have done several events at the Santa Clara R&D center, and we plan to do more. We have open our doors to the tech community at large hosting events for IEEE Hot Interconnect, NFV(Network Function Virtualization), ONF (Open Network Foundation) and various Board Meetings for BBF (Broadband Forum) and INCITS (International Committee for Information Technology Standards). These events are exciting –bringing key players in the industry together, everyone interacting and talking to each other about their ideas, and eager to share their ideas and thoughts together, collaborating on how to transform the existing to make things better. Huawei hosting these meetings and industry events on our campus shows the industry that we are part of the Silicon Valley Ecosystem – that Huawei is a part of what’s happening here.

Looking forward to the future, what are you most excited about?
What excites me is the opportunity we have to be here in Silicon Valley and show everyone who we are. There’s a lot of curiosity in the Valley about who Huawei is and what Huawei does, and we have the opportunity to work together with the companies that make up the Silicon Valley community. We can show them some of the faces behind the company as we work together with all of our neighbors right here in the Valley.
